LEMONT, IL — Lemont Park District's CORE facility will be closed Saturday after two members recently tested positive for the coronavirus, the park district shared in a letter to the community.
The two members were last at the CORE on Aug. 8 and Aug. 11, and were primarily in the fitness center, according to the park district.
"Based on the recommendations from the Cook County Department of Public Health and the Park District Risk Management Association, we will be closing the CORE entirely for one day, Saturday, Aug. 15," the park district said in its letter. "As a precautionary measure, the facility will undergo a deep clean this evening with our electrostatic machine and the CORE will reopen on Sunday, Aug. 16."
The park district will continue to follow state and federal safety guidelines and social distancing and face coverings are required to enter the facility. Cleaning and disinfecting measures also continue to be implemented on a routine basis.
