Dangerous Heat Expected: Lemont Cooling Centers Available

A heat advisory is in effect in Lemont until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

LEMONT, IL — The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday, with heat index values of 110 degrees expected in some areas.

According to the Will County Emergency Management Agency, there are several cooling centers available across the county, including Lemont Township, 1115 Warner St.; Lemont Village Hall, 418 Main St.; and the CORE Aquatic and Fitness Center, 16050 127th St.

Lemont Township is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; Lemont Village Hall is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; and the CORE is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
