Door Broken At Lemont Jeweler, Nothing Stolen: Cops

LEMONT, IL — Two people broke the door to a jewelry store in Lemont early Monday, but nothing was stolen, Lemont Police said. The door to Hauptman Jewelers, 1052 State St., was broken at 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Police believe this incident was unrelated to unrest in nearby towns, and believe it may have been two people seizing an opportunity.

According to police, surveillance showed two people on video, but they were wearing dark clothing and bandanna masks.

Nothing was stolen from the store, police said. Only the glass on the door to the business was broken out.
