With 5 days remaining to turn in petitions, this is the last call to submit even if your sheet has only one signature. Get each sheet notarized at your local bank or here at the library and drop them off at the conference room between these times.

Join us for a conversation with your fellow neighbors about how those in power are quietly drawing themselves into the winner’s circle each November. How America’s founders didn’t see this coming, what we learned from Illinois’s 2013-14 effort and progress being made to secure the Independent Map Amendment on the 2016 ballot.
Drop-off notarized petitions or stop by for a few minutes to simply understand why your neighbors are involved.

Gerrymandering is when a political party gains an advantage during an election by manipulating the borders of voting districts. The goal is to maximize the effect of supporters’ votes and minimize the effect of opponents’ votes in order to gain or maintain power (in Illinois’s General Assembly).
