Expect Wind Gusts Up to 40 MPH Tuesday, More to Come

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for our neck of the woods.

The National Weather Service-Chicago has issued a wind advisory and a hazardous weather outlook for the southwest suburbs, including Lemont.

The wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The winds are south to southwest, and will reach 30 mph this afternoon.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph "could make traveling in high-profile vehicles difficult, especially on east-west oriented roads," the advisory states.

The gusts are supposed to subside a bit this evening but be back again Wednesday. The good news Wednesday is the high temperature is slated to get up to 63 degrees.

There is a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night, generally south of I-88, according to the National Weather Service.
