GOOD EARTH ACUPUNCTURE & WELLNESS HOLDS OPEN HOUSE TO CELEBRATE ACUPUNCTURE AND ORIENTAL MEDICINE DAY 2014

Lemont, IL – While data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that nearly 40% of adults in the U.S. used some form of complementary or alternative medicine (CAM) in 2007*, many Americans are unaware of the full range of benefits that alternative treatments can provide.

In a review of symptoms, diseases, and conditions that have been shown through controlled trials to be effectively treated by acupuncture, for example, the World Health Organization listed not only ailments commonly treated with acupuncture, such as neck and low back pain, sciatica, headache, and tennis elbow, but also conditions for which patients less often consider acupuncture treatment, such as stroke, gastritis and peptic ulcer, dysmenorrhea, allergic rhinitis, depression, nausea and vomiting, and essential hypertension**.

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day, officially observed on October 24, is part of an effort to increase public awareness of the progress, promise, and benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine and is supported through a unique international partnership of professional associations, research organizations, and educational institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In anticipation of its opening next month, Good Earth Acupuncture & Wellness in Lemont is celebrating Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day and invites area residents to drop by for an Open House this Friday, October 24th, between noon and 4 PM at its 201 Stephen Street location. The event will feature giveaways, an opportunity to meet the acupuncturist, Sheri L. Moor, and a drawing for $500 in acupuncture services.
