Household Recycling Event Planned In September

The event will be held Sept. 25 in the Metra lot in downtown Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission will hold its household recycling event on Sept. 25 in the Metra lot, 101 Main St. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to the village, the event will include motor oil recycling, food collection for the food pantries, bicycle recycling, glasses/hearing aids collection, battery collection, CFL light bulb collection, toner cartridge, printer ink and cell phone collection, prescription medication collection, recycling of some electronics and document disposal.

Items not accepted at the event include: televisions, monitors, microwaves, alkaline batteries, EPI pens, needles, liquids or creams.
