'Images Of America' Book Featuring Lemont Released
Lemont's book is by Kevin Barron and Jason Berry, in association with the Lemont Area Historical Society.
LEMONT, IL — A new "Images of America" book, featuring Lemont, was released earlier this week, according to a news release from Arcadia Publishing.
The Images of America series explores the story of one city, state or county, and includes over 17,000 titles.
Lemont's book is by Kevin Barron and Jason Berry, in association with the Lemont Area Historical Society. Local author Pat Camalliere wrote the foreword for the book.

Barron is a special education teacher and creator of SouthCookExplore. Berry is the economic and community development director for the Village of Lemont and a board member for the historical society.
Images for the book were selected from the Lemont Area Historical Society archives and library, according to a release. The book discusses the history of Lemont, its dolomite limestone, quarrying industry, canal workers, and its historic homes and churches.

The Village of Lemont and the Lemont Public Library will host a release party for the book on Nov. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the library. The open house features a reading, book signing, and refreshments.
Books will be available for purchase for the first 80 attendees; and proceeds go to the Friends of the Library and the Lemont Area Historical Society.
The book is also available for purchase at the Lemont Area Historical Society, Mable's Market, Eich's, Pollyanna Brewing, Smokey Road and Three Stories Books.
