Lemont Independence Day Extravaganza: Schedule Of Events

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Park District will hold its annual Independence Day Extravaganza on Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. and culminating in a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. The celebration will be held at Centennial Park, 16028 W. 127th St.

Here's a look at the schedule of events for the day:

• 4 p.m., DJ, food vendors, beer booth, and kid's zone open
• 4:30 p.m., kid's entertainment: "Super Stolie"
• 5:45 p.m., welcome and intro
• 6 p.m., "Petty Ca$h" on stage
• 9:25 p.m., National Anthem
• 9:30 p.m., fireworks. Tune in 104.1 FM to sync the music to the fireworks.

Food vendors include: Gelsosomo's Pizzeria and Pub, Totura's Famous Sausage, Smokin' Z BBQ, Mr. Salty's, Tap House Grill Lemont, and Cream Crunch N More.

The Lemont Park District also had a few reminders for event goers: saving spaces prior to the event time is not allowed within the event area. Using stakes in the ground to save space outside the event area is also not allowed.

Parking is free and is available at the park district lots, Old Quarry Middle School, Lemont Township Community Center on Alba Street, and the Woodland Sanctuary at Timberline and Roberta.

The event is sponsored by the Village of Lemont, Lemont Township, CITGO Lemont Refinery, Gelsosomo's Pizzeria and Pub, Kids Plus Pediatric Dentistry and Lemont Bank and Trust.
