The Junk In Your Trunk Could Benefit Lemont Public Library
The library's Junk in the Trunk car-based rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 24.

LEMONT, IL — If your garage is crammed full and your basement can't hold another box, the Lemont Public Library may have the event for you.
The library's Junk in the Truck event allows you to reserve a space, park your car, pop your trunk, and sell your stuff in the library parking lot, 50 E. Wend St. For those who are looking to buy, you can peruse the trunks from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 24.
Outreach Services Manager Shannon Kazmierczak said she thought the idea would be a great fundraiser for the library.

"[The library] is now fine-free, and we want to continue to offer the same services, if not bigger and more impactful programming, to our community," she said.
You can rent a parking spot for $20 to participate in the event.

Kazmierczak said the parking lot has 59 spots, and about 10 are taken already. The spot also includes room in front of your trunk to display your items on a 6-foot table.
The event will take place during the library's Booktober Fest, so the Chicago Donut Company food truck will be selling donuts at the event, and Sandhill Coffee will be selling coffee and cocoa from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local author Megan Dagnino will also do a storytime at 1:15 p.m., and there will be a pumpkin decorating contest at 1:30 p.m.
