'Kids Who Make' Set To Share Creations In Downtown Lemont

36 vendors ages 6 to 16 will sell their creations to shoppers, in businesses throughout downtown Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — Several vendors will take over downtown Lemont on Sunday, as the 'Kids Who Make' event is set for noon to 3 p.m.

36 vendors ages 6 to 16 will sell their creations to shoppers, in businesses throughout downtown Lemont, Sommer Steele, who created the kids craft event, told Patch.

"[The kids] have spent the summer making all kinds of things like bookmarks, candles, jewelry, pillows, stuffed animals, bath products and more," Steele, who owns Mabel's Market and Three Stories Books, said. "It’s really exceptional stuff!"

Steele said the vendors were required to name their business, make their product, while considering packaging, pricing and payment methods.

"The best part is they are set up inside throughout the small businesses of Lemont, which really gives them an insight into what it’s like to have your own business," Steele said.
