Legendary Lemont Week Begins June 5

Lemont has a variety of events planned to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

The Lemont 150 Fest is planned for June 10 from 1 to 6 p.m. in downtown Lemont, and will feature live entertainment, a DJ, face painting, crafts, balloon artists and carnival games.

LEMONT, IL — In the lead-up to the 150th anniversary of incorporation of Lemont, there are several events planned throughout the week.

On June 5, the Lemont Artist Guild will hold an "en plein air" session from 10 a.m. to noon at Lemont Safety Village, 55 Stephen St. Local artists will create artwork outdoors, so you can bring your own supplies and create with them.

June 6 will be "Downtown Day," and you can enjoy some specials at downtown Lemont's bars and restaurants.

The first cruise night of the summer will be held June 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. You can head to downtown Lemont for the Lemont Legends Car Show and view some vintage cars while enjoying food and drink from local businesses.

June 8 will be a "Downtown Day" focused on shopping. You will earn a raffle ticket for every $50 you spend at participating retailers. Your ticket can be entered to win a basket of Lemont merchandise and gift cards.

The 150th anniversary commemoration will take from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on June 9 at the Village Green park, 322 Main St. Mayor John Egofske will proclaim the anniversary date, and there will be a special dedication to the future Village Green park, as well as treats and giveaways, according to the Village Facebook.
