On Sunday, March 6, 2016 three of the Club’s teams took first place in the Lemont Travel Basketball League. The fifth grade team, coached by Jason Tomaras and Dave Kelby, beat the Lincolway Xplosion in an impressive effort by a score of 33 - 19. The sixth grade team coached by Dwayne Meeks and DiBartello overcame a 12 point deficit at half time to beat The Athlete Within by 5 with a final score of 37 - 32. Finishing Sunday’s championship event, the seventh grade team coached by Jeff Dian, Mike Dunbar and Mike Wisz overwhelmed the Lincolnway Xplosion by erasing a 15 point half time deficit to bring home another championship. The final score of this game was 45 – 43. All three teams posted an impressive win/loss record with the 5th grade team going 36 – 7 for the season. The sixth grade team boasted a record of 29 – 14 with a number tournament championships. Finally, the 7th grade team finished its season with an overall record of 31 – 9.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who competed this year in the program. The Lemont Athletic Club is a competitive travel basketball program for student athletes in the Lemont area.
