Lemont commemorates "See you at the Pole 2015"

On Wed 9/23 students will once again gather at the flag poles in front of Old Quarry (7-7:30am) and Lemont High School (8-8:30am).

See You at the Pole (SYATP) is an annual gathering of students of all ages at a flagpole in front of their local school for prayer, scripture-reading and worship, during the early morning before school starts.
The events began in 1990, in the United States, where public schools cannot sponsor prayers and some decided to mark a day each year to gather to pray for the students, staff, administration of the school as well as local and national government and personal petitions. It has grown by word of mouth, announcements at youth rallies and churches, and the Internet and now occurs internationally.
This year SYATP occurs on Wednesday the 23 of September.

This year, on Wed Sept 23th, I and some of my wonderful friends will be gathering at both the Lemont High and Old Quarry Flag Poles before school begins.
We will be at Old Quarry Middle School’s Flag Pole from 7-7:30am and at Lemont High School’s Flag Pole from 8-8:30am
The theme this year is:
They all met togetherand were constantly UNITED in prayer. —Acts 1:14

I am so excited that we will be exercising this freedom to pray publicly for and with our students. The challenges are not getting easier for our youth, so to step forward and let them know and join with them in offering prayer of support and strength is an encouragement of mind and spirit. If you are a student I truly hope you will join me at the flag pole on Wednesday Sept 23. If you are a parent of a student, a teacher, a Lemont resident who would like to join us know you are welcome.

Email terri@hopeandfriendshipfoundation.com with any questions. There will be donuts and water so we can nourish body, mind and spirit. Honest that is not a bribe!! :-)
