Lemont Garden Club Celebrates 70 Years
The club plants and maintains garden beds and planters in downtown Lemont, offers educational programs, and more.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Garden Club is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The club was first founded on Nov. 14, 1949. The club said Mayor John Egofske will also be honoring the club's 70 years of charitable contributions with a proclamation at the village board meeting on April 22.
The Lemont Garden Club is a nonprofit group that plants and maintains garden beds and planters
in downtown Lemont and purchases and decorates large holiday wreaths for several municipal buildings. The club said it also offers scholarships to local high school students who pursue horticulture or related fields and offers educational programs to the community.
The club will also hold its annual plant sale "Perennials on Parade" on May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lemont Park District.
