Lemont Girl Scout Sells Over 1,200 Boxes Of Cookies
Evelyn sold 1,223 boxes of cookies, while the average Girl Scout sells around 35.

LEMONT, IL — While many Girl Scout troops were unable to sell their cookies due to the coronavirus pandemic, one Lemont Girl Scout rose to the occasion and sold over 1,000 boxes of cookies.
Kindergartener Evelyn Herrera is part of Service Unit 724 in Lemont, which is made up of 35 troops of over 300 girls. Evelyn sold 1,223 boxes of cookies, while the average Girl Scout sells around 35.
"I sold all of my cookies by going to the train station," Evelyn told Patch. Evelyn and her family also sold cookies to family members, friends and at church.

Evelyn said her dad created a wagon with lights and signs, and she pulled it around when she sold her cookies.
"She's a goal getter, she didn't want to stop," Evelyn's mom, Sarah, told Patch. Sarah said Evelyn sold cookies at the Lemont, Tinley Park, Lockport and Romeoville train stations before they stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
