Lemont Historical Society Presents An Evening with Coach John Jones
Event will be held Sunday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Community Christian Church.
The Lemont Historical Society will welcome famed Lemont High School basketall coach John Jones. Coach Jones served Lemont High School from 1957–92 as teacher, coach, and athletic director amassing 409 victories from 1961–89.
He was awarded Joliet‐area Coach of the Year in 1970, Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Coach of the Year in 1975, inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 1982, and Illinois Athletic Directors Association (IADA) Athletic Director of the Year in 1985.
Celebrate his contribution and accomplishments on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lemont Community Christian Church, 106 Stephen St.

A $10 donation to the Lemont Area Historical Society is requested for admission. Tickets may be used toward a LAHS membership credit and can be purchased at: Smokey Row Antiques, 112 Stephen Street; Tom’s Place, 110 Stephen Street, and the Lemont Area Historical Society, 306 Lemont Street. A limited number of tickets available.
