Lemont Keepataw Day Parade Float Contest Winners Announced!
Pawlaks, Pirates, and Scouts Win Bragging Rights Until Next Year
The Lemont Keepataw Day Parade Committee has announced the Float Contest winners for the 2023 Keepataw Day Parade. The 71st annual parade was held during Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in downtown Lemont. The theme this year was celebrating 150 years of Lemont.
In keeping with that theme, the judging committee awarded the 150th Birthday Cake with Candles Float, created by Pawlak Properties, as the Best Overall Float.
Two other floats were awarded Best Organization honors: the Pirates of the Canal for their Pirate Ship, complete with a confetti cannon, and Lemont Scouts Pack 149 (Troop 49 Boys and Girls and Troop 149) for their camping-themed float.
