Lemont Lightning 2018 Boys Baseball 8U & 9U Tryouts are here!

Parents,

If your son is interested in playing for the 2018 8U or 9U Lemont Lightning, tryouts are this Saturday, July 1st and next Wednesday, July 5th.

The Lemont Lightning is the boys travel baseball organization within the Lemont Baseball and Softball Club Organization. The Lemont Baseball and Softball Club Organization continues to be the only organization in Lemont that offers both in-house and travel baseball & softball (aka—Lemont Lightning)…continuing the tradition of ensuring every player, regardless of talent or experience is able to continue to play “America’s Pastime” from year-to-year!

Saturday, July 1st

• 8U 9:00AM – 11:00M (Bambrick D)
• 9U 11:00AM – 1:00PM (Bambrick D)

Wednesday, July 5th

• 8U 5:30PM – 7:30PM (North Quad)
• 9U 7:30PM – 9:00PM (North Quad)

Players only need to attend one tryout.

Please show-up at least 15-20 minutes prior to the start time to get your player checked-in and registered. All tryouts will start with a parent meeting to provide an overview of the program and answer any questions.

Guy Sulzberger, who managed the 2017 8U team, will be continuing on as the 2018 Full-Time Travel 9U manager. Brian Rediehs, a coach in the league for the last several years, will be the 2018 Part-Time 8U manager (the 8U part-time team is guaranteed to play together in the in-house league at the Mustang level as well as their travel schedule). Creation of a 2nd part-time team at the 8U and 9U level will be determined based on numbers and talent following tryouts.

Cut-off dates are as follows…

• 8U – Player must be 8 years old or younger, may not turn 9 before May 1, 2018
• 9U – Player must be 9 years old or younger, may not turn 10 before May 1, 2018

Make-up dates will be handled on a case-by-case basis…please contact Guy (773-531-5923) or Brian (312-545-8030) for details. Details for the 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U baseball & all softball tryouts will be announced over the next week.
