Lemont Man Was Trafficking Heroin From Chicago To New Lenox: Cops

Suerth had been trafficking heroin from Chicago to New Lenox via the train, police said.

LEMONT, IL — A Lemont man has been arrested after trafficking heroin via a Metra train in New Lenox, the Will County Sheriff's Office said. Daniel Suerth, 38, of the 100 block of Harper, was arrested on three counts of manufacture/delivery of heroin 100+ grams and one count of possession of heroin 15+ grams.

Police said Suerth was taken into custody after a month long investigation. The Gang Suppression Unit took him into custody at the New Lenox Metra Station, 125 E. Maple St., in New Lenox on Sept. 25. The unit and the DEA had been investigating Suerth, who was trafficking heroin from Chicago to New Lenox via the train.

According to police, at the time of his arrest, Suerth was found to have 103 grams of heroin and .4 grams of cocaine in his possession. Suerth appeared in court where his bond was set at $500,000 with 10 percent to apply.

As of Sept. 27, he remains in custody.
