Lemont Men Arrested After Getting Trucks Stuck In Mud: Cops

The damage to Bambrick Park is over $500 after two men got their trucks stuck in the mud, police said.

LEMONT, IL — Two Lemont men have been charged with felony criminal damage to property after driving their trucks into fields and getting stuck in the mud at Bambrick Park, the Will County Sheriff's Office said. Ben Ibianskas, 18, and Michael Fornero, 19, were arrested and charged at 2:45 a.m. April 6. They were both booked into Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Deputies were dispatched to Bambrick Park at 2:45 a.m. April 6 after someone called about a truck in the field, Will County Sheriff's Office said. When the deputy arrived, he saw a wooden fence was broken and there were fresh tire tracks. He followed the tire tracks and found a red pick-up truck stuck in the mud about 100 yards away.

The sheriff's office said the deputy approached the truck, which was driven by Ibianskas. Ibianskas told the officer his friend, Fornero, had called him and told him he was stuck in the mud. Ibianskas drove his truck into the field from the parking lot to help his friend, before getting his own truck stuck in the mud.

Fernero's silver pick-up truck was stuck further in the field, and Fernero told police he had entered the field from a dirt trail off of 135th Street and wanted to go "mudding," the sheriff's office said.

Cost of the damage is not known, but it is above $500. The sheriff's office said deputies called a tow truck, and both trucks were towed from the field.
