Lemont Officers Participate In No Shave November
No Shave November is an annual event involving the growing of beards and mustaches during the month to raise awareness of various cancers.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont residents may notice some less than clean-shaven police officers in the next few weeks. The Lemont Polic Department said some of its members will be participating in No Shave November again this year.
According to the department, No Shave November is an annual event involving the growing of beards and mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of various cancers.
Participating officers must make a donation to be allowed to grow facial hair and be excused from the department’s uniform/appearance guidelines. The department said female officers will also be able to participate by painting their fingernails which is also restricted by the guidelines.

Last year, the Lemont Police Department, with the help of other village employees and a generous donation from the Nail Inn and School of Cosmetology, raised over $7,000.
