Lemont Park District Commissioner Steps Down
Board seeks to fill vacancy left by Jim Davoren.
Lemont Park District Commissioner Jim Davoren recently submitted his letter of resignation, citing other obligations as his reason to step down.
“The Lemont Park District Staff would like to extend much gratitude to Commissioner Jim Davoren for his hard work, interest, and genuine care for the community of Lemont and we wish him all the best,” said Executive Director Louise Egofske.
Due to the Davoren's announced resignation, the Lemont Park District Board of Commissioners is looking for another member to fill a one-year seat appointment until April 2017. At that time, this position is subject to an election in which interested parties may run for the remaining unexpired four-year term. The purpose of a Board Member is to develop policies; devise long-range plans, procedures and regulations for operations of the agency; monitor finances; and serve as a voting member. All Board Members are expected to attend monthly meetings, participate on various committees, attend standing committee meetings if a member, attend board retreats and in-service workshops and attend and participate in special events. Members must be well-informed and aware of the needs of the community, participate in organizational decision-making, assume leadership roles in all board activities, represent the organization to the public and private industry and contribute skills, knowledge and experience when appropriate. Applicants for this position must submit their resume, two references and a letter of interest to Lemont Park District Board President, Brian Pepich, at Brian-Pepich@lemontparkdistrict.org by March 21, 2016.
