Lemont Park District Hopes To Open Pool During Summer

LEMONT, IL — Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and is usually when many community and park district pools open. However, due to the coronavirus, it is unclear when or if pools will be allowed to open.

In Lemont, the Lemont Park District said it is still hoping to open the Centennial Outdoor Aquatic Pool at some point during the summer if state orders permit.

Director of Recreation and Communications Carrie Dellamano said the park district continues to evaluate program offerings and operations for when the state reaches each new phase.

It is possible the park district pool may be used for programming only, Dellamano said.

"All district operational updates will continue to be forthcoming as soon as information is made available," she said.
