Lemont Plans to Send Hunger Packing with a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event: November 6th, 7th, & 8th
Feed My Starving Children MobilePack will be returning to Lemont November 6-8th with 1,400 community volunteers packing over 272,000 meals.
Feed My Starving Children MobilePack came to Lemont in 2011 & 2012 and literally saved the lives of thousands of starving children worldwide with the 467,500 meals produced. The generosity of the Lemont community definitely made a difference in the impact that was made.
While progress is steady, the fight to end hunger is far from over. There are still 6,200 children who die every day as a result of starvation. Therefore, FMSC is coming back to Lemont for a 3rd community event to pack over 272,000 lifesaving meals November 6-8th. The meals produced will feed 745 children for an entire year, and your help is greatly needed.
The Lemont MobilePack is in need of donors for the purchase of the ingredients that make up the meals that will be packed. Over one-half of the $60,000 needed has been raised so far, but another $20,000 is needed to fully pay for all the meals that will be produced during the November event. On-line volunteer registration for the 1,400 volunteers needed will begin September 25th. Volunteers will be needed during the following shifts:
Thursday, November 6th: 11:45am-1:45pm (set-up); 2:45-4:45pm, 5:15-7:15pm, 7:45-9:45pm

Friday, November 7th: 2:15-4:15pm, 4:45-6:45pm, 7:15-9:15pm
Saturday, November 8th: 8:30-10:30am, 11:00am-1:00pm, 1:30-3:30pm, & 3:30-5:30pm (break-down)
