Lemont Police Officers Participate In No Shave November
Lemont Police officers will participate in No Shave November.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont residents may notice some less than clean-shaven police officers in the next few weeks. According to Chief of Police Marc Maton, members of the department are participating in No Shave November, which is an annual event involving the growing of beards and mustaches during November to raise awareness of various cancers.
According to the chief, participating officers must donate a minimum $50 to be able to grow facial hair and be
excused from the department’s strict uniform/appearance guidelines. Female officers will also be able to participate by painting their fingernails, which is also restricted by the guidelines.
All of the proceeds will be matched by the Lemont Police Benevolent Association, and donated to a Lemont family who is currently battling cancer. The police department also invites other village employees to participate, or to contribute to the cause.
