Lemont Police Officers Save Overdosing Man's Life With Narcan
Lemont Police officers saved a 26-year-old man's life with Narcan after they found him unresponsive of a possible heroin overdose.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Police officers saved a 26-year-old man's life with Narcan after they found him unresponsive of a possible heroin overdose. Police said officer Brian Danaher and Sergeant Joseph Buczyna were on patrol when they dispatched to the 400 block of McCarthy Road for a possible overdose on Jan. 7.
According to police, when officers entered the home, they found the 26-year-old unresponsive, laying on his bed. Danaher administered a dose of Narcan to the victim, and he soon became responsive. Lemont Fire Department arrived on scene and the victim was taken to the hospital.
This was the first overdose in the village of Lemont in 2018, police said. In 2017, Lemont Police Department administered Narcan to overdose victims on six occasions, resulting in the saving of six lives. Narcan has been administered by Lemont officers 25 times since the program's inception in May 2014, according to the department.
