Lemont Police Participate In 'No Shave November'
Proceeds will go to three Lemont families battling cancer as well as St. Baldrick's.
LEMONT, IL — Lemont Police Department will once again participate in No Shave November, to raise awareness and funds for those affected by cancer. The department said police officers will be allowed to grow beards and mustaches, when they normally must be clean-shaven.
Participating officers must make a donation to be allowed to grow facial hair and be excused from the department’s uniform/appearance guidelines. Female officers and staff can also participate by painting their fingernails, which is also restricted by the guidelines.
The department said the first $3,000 in donations will be matched by the Lemont Police Benevolent Association. This year, No Shave November will be extended through the months of December, January and February.
