Lemont Schools Will Go Remote If Local Positivity Rate Increases

Lemont schools will return to remote learning if the local positivity rate reaches 8 percent for three consecutive days.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont schools will move to remote learning if the local rolling seven-day average test positivity rate reaches 8 percent or greater for three days, District 210 and District 113A superintendents shared in a joint communication.

Both districts are set to return to in-person learning; the high school will return with a hybrid schedule while District 113A schools are set to return 5 days a week.

According to the joint communication from LHS Superintendent Mary Ticknor and District 113A Superintendent Anthony McConnell, region 10 (of which Lemont is a part) has a positivity rate of 5.8 percent, while Lemont has a positivity rate of 6.8 percent.

"If this were to occur, we would not consider a return to in-person learning until the local rolling seven-day average test positivity rate is less than 8 percent for a minimum of three consecutive days," a statement from both district superintendents read.

District 113A is scheduled to return to school Aug. 17 and Lemont High School will begin Aug. 24.
