Lemont Teen Remembered as 'Brilliant, Funny' and a Good Friend

Alexa Turner, 17, died in a tragic accident on Sept. 2, in Lemont, Illinois.
Alexa (Lexi) was born on April 2, 1998, in Aurora, Illinois, to George and Amy Turner (Padley). Her father was in information technology and her mother works in sales.

Lexi was a senior at Lemont High School. She was an active member of the performing arts, cheerleading, and played on the high school tennis team. Her interests included music, spending time at her grandparent’s lake house, and Model UN. She was an exceptionally devoted friend. Lexi was a gifted student, consistently achieving straight A grades. Lexi’s sarcastic, dry sense of humor was a perfect balance to her brilliant intellect, making her a friend to many.
Lexi loved the color green, sea turtles, and searching for new music. Her favorite movies were “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Spice World.”

Lexi is survived by her mother, Amy Turner Padley, and sisters, Morgan Turner and Maddison Padley. She was preceded in death by her father, George N. Turner, and her grandfather William J. Turner. She is survived by her grandparents, Bob and Kathleen Persak, and Mary (Turner) Howlett. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles—thankfully, too many to list.
A memorial service will be held at Community Christian Church, 106 Stephen St. Lemont, on Monday, Sept. 7. Doors open at 4 p.m. Service at 4:30 p.m. Food, beverages, and celebration to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lexi Turner Memorial Fund.
