Lemont Theatre Group Offers Improv, Dance, Makeup Workshops this Spring

In response to requests for additional acting experiences and training, Little Mountain Community Theatre NFP is offering a variety of one-day workshops in improvisation, dance, and stage makeup this spring.

Improv ... Off the Top of Your Head! will be held Feb. 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Lemont High School Commons. A children’s session will include students in 4th through 8th grades, while high school students and adults will receive separate instruction. Participants will learn to think on their feet in a non-competitive and supportive environment through interactive, hands-on activities.

Dance: 5, 6, 7, 8! will be held March 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the LHS Performing Arts Center. The workshop is open to students in 4th grade through adults. This crash course will provide dancers with tips on how to prepare for and perform well in a dance audition.

Stage Makeup: Greasepaint 101 will be offered on April 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the LHS Commons. The workshop is open to students in 4th grade through adults. Participants will have fun learning the tips of the trade during this hands-on session.

The cost of each workshop is $30. Space is limited to provide personalized instruction by industry professionals.

Registration for LMCT’s summer programs is also now open.

The Acting Workshop for Children entering 2nd through 7th grades is slated for June 13-24. Students involved with this year’s workshop will work on a production of Annie Kids. The two-week theatre intensive will meet mornings Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the LHS PAC. Tuition is $300. A sibling discount of 10 percent is given for each additional child from the same family.

Super Hero Camp Intergalactic Edition is scheduled for June 27 through July 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the LHS PAC. This camp in partnership with Artful IMPACT! is designed for individuals ages 9 and older with physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and autism. Tuition is $300.
