LEMONT, IL — Trustee Ryan Kwasneski isn't resigning after all. After submitting his resignation in June, he retracted it at the July 22 village board meeting. Kwasneski had said in his letter of resignation that he was resigning due to increased responsibilities in his professional career, but now that's changed.

"It is with great pleasure that I can say the professional circumstances have changed and that will allow me to retain my seat as trustee," Kwaneski said at the board meeting. Kwaneski apologized to everyone for the "inconvenience and confusion."

Mayor John Egofske said 17 people had applied for the position of trustee. He said they will reach out and have follow-up conversations with all the applicants.
