Lemont's Centennial Outdoor Aquatic Center Closed Friday Morning Due To Poor Air Quality

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Park District's Centennial Outdoor Pool is closed Friday morning due to poor air quality, the park district shared.

"We will reevaluate conditions throughout the day," the park district said.

As of 8 a.m. Friday, Lemont's air quality was listed as "hazardous," according to AirNow.gov.

Smoke is expected to clear out later Friday afternoon, as winds push the smoke northeastward, the weather service said. The Illinois EPA and Indiana Department of Environmental Management are maintaining air quality alerts across the area through Friday night, the weather service said.
