LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School’s Honors Symphonic Band, led by director Matt Doherty, soon will perform in one of the nation’s most prestigious music festivals, the school said in a news release.

Prior to that performance, however, it will join with a visiting ensemble from Leigh High School in San Jose, California, for a preview concert on March 27.

According to LHS, last summer, Lemont submitted an audition tape for the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. This event, which will take place from March 31-April 2 in Indianapolis, celebrates music making by the nation’s finest high school and middle school scholastic instrumental ensembles.
