Lemont's Own Blackhawk Scott Darling Comes Home after Stanley Cup Win
Darling shows how much he appreciated the town's show of support during his championship journey.
Lemont native Scott Darling hasn’t forgotten his roots. The 26-year-old relief goalie for the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks found his way back to Lemont Sunday to thank local restaurant owners for their support.
“He said he felt he had to stop by to thank us for all the support,” said Jennifer Macari of Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria and Pub, 206 Main St. “He said it has been fun watching our #LemontsDarling campaign in social media.”
In the #LemontsDarling campaign, Macari rallied local fans of the local hockey hero. He’s the first Chicago-area native to play for his hometown team and win the Stanley Cup.
