Meet Lemont Village Trustee Candidate Janelle Kittridge

LEMONT, IL — The upcoming election is less than three weeks away, and early voting has already begun. In Lemont, one of the contested local races is the race for village board trustee. There are three open positions on the board, and Janelle Kittridge is one of the four candidates running.
Kittridge lives in Lemont with her husband, Matthew Porter, and their four children. She is the owner of Plastic Film Corporation in Lemont and has served 22 years as vice president of sales and marketing.
Kittridge believes the most pressing issue facing the board is the budget.

"I plan to make sound decisions to maintain our town without the concerns of continual increases," she said. "Our focus needs to be on bringing more revenue into our town."
Other issues that define her campaign include: "protecting the integrity and uniqueness of our current footprint of Lemont, while bringing in more growth."

Kittridge said she would also like to, "Address the concerns of new business in Lemont, both filling the empty storefronts as well as making the companies transition into Lemont seamless."
Kittridge said she is in favor of the direction Lemont is moving.
"There are some great people on the current board, and I believe that my input as a female, resident and small business owner, I can help take Lemont to the next level," she said. "We still have many big issues to face, including our budget, and I know that I will be able to help make sound decisions for our community to strengthen it in the long run."

There are three open positions on the village board in the April 2 election. The three other candidates are Ron Stapleton, Rick Sniegowski and Traci Sarpalius.
