• Illinois American Water customers can speak out against proposed rate hike at Bolingbrook hearing Wednesday (shawlocal.com) — Lemont residents who get water from Illinois American Water could see their monthly bills rise by about $10 if a proposed $129 million rate hike is approved. Regulators will take public comments at a Bolingbrook hearing Wednesday night and online before ruling in December, while consumer advocates urge Lemont and other customers to speak out against repeated increases.
   

• CITGO Lemont refinery holds multi-agency emergency response drill (shawlocal.com) — A recent three-day emergency response drill at the CITGO Lemont Refinery brought together more than 100 participants, including Lemont police and multiple state and federal agencies, to test how well they'd coordinate in a major incident. Organizers say they'll now use feedback from the exercise to refine future training and improve safety planning for the Lemont facility and surrounding communities.
