Metra Adds Trains To Heritage Corridor Line

LEMONT, IL — Metra has announced it is expanding its service on the Heritage Corridor line as ridership grows with easing stay-at-home restrictions. The expanded service, which is effective June 29, includes an additional inbound and outbound train on the Heritage Corridor line.
Metra said it is adding a 7:05 a.m. inbound train from Joliet which will arrive at Union Station in Chicago at 8:12 a.m. There will also be a 4:50 p.m. departure from Chicago Union Station which will arrive in Joliet at 5:56 p.m.
You can find the alternate weekday schedules for Metra online. The company said Sunday schedules continue to be used on both weekend days on all lines.

Metra said it will be prepared to change schedules on all lines to adjust to ridership growth and
travel patterns. Metra will continue to closely monitor ridership and will add cars to trains or
trains to the schedules to make sure that as ridership grows there will still be plenty of room for
physical distancing.
Passengers should practice physical distancing, wear a face covering while riding the train and stay in their seats and not crowd the aisles while the train is approaching their destination, a release from Metra states.
