Mount Assisi Center Open House

The Mount Assisi Center (formerly Mount Assisi Academy) invites you to an Open House to see the re-purposed second floor retreat space.

In May of 2014, Mount Assisi Academy closed its doors as an all-girls Catholic High School in Lemont. The School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King had educated thousands of girls in the Franciscan tradition for over 60 years.

Today, The Mount Assisi Center (formerly the school) provides Churches, religious groups, schools, and the diocese with much needed space for hosting retreats and days of reflection. The second floor has been re-purposed to include several meeting rooms, small group sitting areas, a comfortable youth room, and a beautiful Chapel. The Center also provides a spacious dining room for meals. Another area of the retreat facilities consists of San Damiano Hall which has comfortable and nicely appointed semi-private rooms for 50 retreat guests as well as a sitting area, kitchenette, and several small group areas. Finally, Our Lady of the Angels House of Prayer has an overnight capacity of three, with three private bedrooms, a lovely Chapel, a dining and kitchen area as well as a spacious sitting room. The campus is an ideal space for peace, quiet, and reflection as you are surrounded by the wooded beauty of the Mount Assisi Hill.

On Sunday, October 15th from 2:00-5:00 the Our Lady of the Angels Retreat Ministries at The Mount Assisi Center will be hosting an Open House. There will be a special blessing at 2:30 in the 2nd floor Chapel (former library). The Sisters invite the community to share in blessing and celebrating the retreat center, renovated San Damiano Hall, and Our Lady of the Angels House of Prayer. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.
