Obituary: Carol Gorski

LEMONT, IL — Carol A. Gorski, nee Etzkorn, age 74, of Lemont, passed away June 26, 2023, with her family at her side.

Survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Gorski; her son, Matthew “Matt” Gorski; her siblings, Edward (Sharon) Etzkorn and Jon Etzkorn; a brother-in-law, Dwayne Slayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother, Jim Etzkorn; and a sister, Elaine Slayton.

Carol was an avid gardener, especially flowers. She enjoyed bird watching and was a diehard Notre Dame football fan. She also traveled to Michigan to pick peaches every year and celebrate their wedding anniversary. Carol graduated from Lemont High School in 1967.

Visitation is Thursday, June 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services are Friday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 500 Lemont St., Lemont. Interment Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.
