Park District Holds Planning Meeting For New Playground

The new playground will be fully ADA accessible and construction should begin in June and be completed in September.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Park District will hold a planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss its new playground at Centennial Park. The meeting will be virtual and in-person, and you can RSVP to cdellamano@lemontparks.org. Masks and social distancing are mandatory at the in-person meeting.

According to a release, the park district has a park replacement program called "Make Your Park," and the playground at Centennial Park is next on the list. The playground is at the heart of the Centennial campus, and is also called "The Lemont Junior Woman's Club Playground."

The park district said the group made a donation in the early 2000s to assist in the installation of the current playground. In 2018, the club committed to raising $30,000 over a three-year timespan – which will come to an end in April of this year – to assist with the funding of the new play pieces.
