Playgrounds In Lemont Now Open

Visitors should maintain social distancing and practice good hygiene before and after visiting the playground.

LEMONT, IL — Playgrounds in Lemont are now open, the park district shared in a community email update. The playground pieces are not cleaned and sanitized, and visitors should maintain social distancing and practice good hygiene before and after visiting the playground.

According to the park district, Illinois park districts received new guidance from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity regarding the opening of playgrounds, which allows units of local government to determine if playgrounds can open. There is still a capacity limit of 50 people at the playground.

Although playgrounds are now open, Director of Recreation and Communications Carrie Dellamano told Patch that the splash pad is still closed currently.
