Police Blotter: Battery, Speeding; No License, Insurance

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lemont Police Department Feb. 8-14. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Feb. 8

Battery, Obstruction of a Peace Officer, Speeding

Angela M. Melillo, 34, of the 16400 block of New Ave., was arrested at 4:38 a.m. in the 800 block of Main Street. She was charged with battery, obstruction of a peace officer and speeding, and was issued a March 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

Suspended License, No Insurance

Edward T. Davis, 56, of the 300 block of Cameron Ave. in Lockport, was arrested at 4:05 a.m. at New Ave. and Lockport St. He was charged with driving while his license is suspended and no insurance, and was issued a March 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Suspended License, Following Too Close

Hilarion Nava Jr., 37, of the 1300 block of 48th Court in Cicero, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. at State Street and Keepataw Drive. He was charged with driving while his license is suspended and following too close, and was issued a March 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Members of the public are reminded that these complaints contain only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
