Putting Lemont on the Map: Village Introduces New Interactive Website
Many Lemont residents are already familiar all the amenities their community has to offer – and village officials and staff are eager to share that information with a wider audience.
For more than a year, Village Trustee Paul Chialdikas led efforts to put Lemont on the map through a marketing campaign designed to attract new residents to the community. And through the trustee’s work with village staff and local resident Laura Swalec, co-owner of the PlumThree marketing agency, the interactive website “ilivelemont” was born.
According to Chialdikas, the website's development, ongoing maintenance and updates are being funded by a $25,000 marketing line item in the village budget. He said about $5,000 remains in the line item following ilivelemont's development.
Last week, the village officially launched the interactive website, which is designed to put the spotlight on Lemont and highlight the positive things the community has to offer.

“We want to market Lemont to young families who want to move out of the city or who live in nearby towns and are looking to relocate and looking for houses,” Chialdikas said.
In turn, Chialdikas said, those new residents will become shoppers and consumers who will support local businesses and help boost economic development in the community.

The trustee, who serves as the village’s economic development chairman, said Lemont has a lot to offer potential new residents – from homes already for sale and up to 1,000 buildable lots available in a variety of sizes and price ranges – as well as the community’s proximity to major transportation routes such as I-55, I-355 and a Metra train stop.
Chialdikas encourages current residents to take a look at the ilivelemont website, which he characterizes as a “tool to attract residents and support the foundation already built in Lemont.”
“The new website, www.ilivelemont.com, is another economic driver to draw residents from outside the village to consider Lemont for residency, Chialdikas said last week at a village board meeting. “We know there are a lot of young families who are looking for a place to live. Take a look at the site – and most importantly, direct it out to friends. We’d love to have them as residents in Lemont.”

The ilivelemont website features a video in which Mayor Brian Reaves educates visitors on Lemont’s history and heritage, educational and recreational opportunities as well as the village’s dining, shopping and transportation amenities.
And with just a click, online visitors can access a list of Lemont’s many attractions, special deals at local businesses, local history and a plethora of information for potential residents on available housing, schools, places of worship and more.
Chialdikas sees the ilivelemont website as a way to introduce Lemont to those who may not be familiar with the community, as well as pique their interest in the village as a place they may want to someday call home.
“Over the next several weeks, we will begin utilizing new marketing strategies and branding techniques through advertising, tag lines and more,” Chialdikas said. “It’s all about the mantra, ilivelemont. We are trying to bring people to Lemont. The concept is of a growing community on the residential side.”
