Egofske, who serves as Mayor of Lemont, said he will not run in the upcoming election due to his responsibilities as mayor.
LEMONT, IL — 82nd District Illinois House Representative John Egofske will not seek another term in the Illinois General Assembly, he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Egofske, who serves as Mayor of Lemont, said he will not run in the upcoming election due to his responsibilities as mayor. He was appointed as representative earlier this year after Representative Jim Durkin resigned.
“Having the opportunity to serve the people of the 82nd district in the Illinois General Assembly has been a distinct honor,” Egofske said. “Due to my responsibilities as Mayor of Lemont as our community continues to grow and manage new projects and economic development, I have chosen to not run in the upcoming election. I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this past year.”
