River Valley Students Raise Funds to Help Victims of Recent Hurricanes

River Valley Students and Rotary Club raise funds for ShelterBox

Several hurricanes have devastated huge areas in the United States, including Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Responding to these disasters, The EarlyAct Clubs at River Valley, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Lemont-Homer Glen, sponsored a “Penny War” Challenge. Through those efforts, $1,736.05 will be donated to our local Rotary on behalf of our Early Act Club and the River Valley students and staff. Money will be used to support a ShelterBox that will provide temporary housing supplies to those that have lost housing.

This activity is the third year that District 113A has raised money to purchase relief funding for people in need. We are very proud to say that with everyone’s efforts we have managed to purchase five shelter boxes throughout that time. The students from the EarlyAct Club at River Valley School are excited to support this worthwhile cause!

Congratulations to the students and families of River Valley Schools for a job well done!
