SPARTANS HS Hockey Tryouts (Bolingbrook/Lemont/Lockport/Romeoville)

Tryouts will take place on:
Wednesday, September 3 from 9:10-10:10 pm @ Darien
Sunday, September 7 from 9:00-10:30 pm @ Darien*
Monday, September 8 from 9:20-10:30 @ Rocket (Bolingbrook)

Skaters must bring one light jersey (white/yellow/grey) and one dark jersey (black/blue/green - NO RED JERSEYS PLEASE) with a NUMBER ON THE BACK. Last names are optional. I will have some extras of each if needed.

*IMPORTANT: We will be sizing up any players that will require jerseys and warm-ups at this tryout. There is no obligation to purchase until you agree to join the team. We just want to have the players sized so that the order can be placed later that week. Please arrive by 8:00 pm for sizing. Players must have their shoulder pads available when trying on the jerseys.

Important dates to mark on your calendar:
Wednesday, September 10 - first official practices for JV and Varsity. JV will be at Darien at 9:00 and the Varsity will be at Downers Grove at 9:45
Monday, September 15 - parent meeting and first payment due. We will meet in the party room area next to the Placid rink at Rocket starting at 8:15. Players will also attend the first portion of the meeting with the coaches.
Sunday, September 21 - Checking clinic. This will be mandatory for every player on the JV squad regardless if they have attended a checking clinic in the past. A refresher is never a bad thing. This is also open to any Varsity players who would also like a refresher. There is no additional charge for this clinic.
Monday, September 29 - IHOA clinic with Dave Zednick. Dave is a referee and the IHSHL rep. He also sits on the Rules and Ethics board with AHAI. He will be talking with the players about any new rule changes as well as other information relating to referee calls.
Friday, September 26 - official start to the season.
