Spartans JV team playing in Thanksgiving Tournament!
Come out and support you local teams. Good luck to the Lemont High School football team in their quest of the IHSA 6A State Championship Gm!
For those of you who might be interested in yesterday’s results from the JV Thanksgiving Tournament going on at the Canlan Ice Rink in Romeoville, here they are:
Spartans- 5 Bloomington Sharks- 2
Spartans- 2 Lincolnway Black- 2
Naperville North Huskies- 5 Lincolnway Black- 0
Naperville North Huskies- 6 Bloomington Sharks- 1

So, going into today’s competition, Naperville North Huskies are in 1st place at 2-0 followed by our Spartans at 1-0-1, Lincolnway Black at 0-1-1, & Bloomington Sharks at 0-2.
This means that 1st place is on the line today at 5pm (Canlan Rink) Rink #2 when our Spartans battle Naperville North. If today’s game is as exciting as last night’s game- you won’t to miss it! Come out & support the boys if you can. The address for the Canlan Rink is: 1581 Normantown Romeoville, IL 60446. Take I55 South, get off on Weber Road Exit – turn left on Weber Road & go up over I55 & then take the first right past the gas station on right onto Normantown Road. Rink will be on your left.

If our Spartans win today they will be in 1st place & will play the 4th place finisher at 9:00pm tonight same rink. If (don’t say it!) they lose they & Lincolnway Black wins they will be in a tie with them at 1-1-1 & it will come down to a tie breaker criteria to determine who finishes 2nd & 3rd. Regardless of finishing 2nd or 3rd, that game would be played at 8:50pm tonight same rink. A reminder that games can start early… or late as yesterday’s first game did, so please keep that in mind. Also remember that Coach Sal would like all players at the rink 1 hour prior to game time.
Our boys will have to win tonight’s late game to advance to tomorrow’s championship game, which will be held at the Inwood Ice Arena (3000 W Jefferson St in Joliet, IL). As far as I know start time for the championship game is still 11:30am. Karen or myself will update you after today’s results become final. By the way a HUGE thank you to Karen who caught the rink location change in an email sent by Canlan Classic Tournaments last Friday- Thanks for backing me up Karen!!
