70 Degrees, Dry Weekend Ahead For Illinois
After several days of rain, most of the weekend should be sunny and dry.

After several days of heavy rain, the Chicago area has a dry, warmer weekend ahead. Scattered sprinkles are possible on Friday night, before a sunny day on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The high for Saturday is 68 degrees, and Saturday night will also be clear with a high of 43 degrees.
Sunday will be even warmer, with a high of 72 degrees, the NWS said. It will be sunny all day, before a chance of showers and thunderstorms late Sunday night.

Most of the area received near 5 inches of rain from April 27 to May 2, according to the NWS. Midway received 5.06 inches of rain; O'Hare received 5.04 inches; Romeoville received 4.94 inches; Aurora received 5.26 inches; and Plainfield saw 5.02 inches.
