Temps Near 100 Tuesday, Cooling Centers Available In Lemont

LEMONT, IL — Temperatures are expected to be near 100 degrees on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. As the dangerous heat approaches, cooling centers are available in Lemont, for residents who may be in need.

Cooling centers are located at:

• Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave.
• Lemont Village Hall, 418 Main St.
• Lemont CORE and Aquatic Center, 16050 127th St.
• Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St.

According to the weather service, the high for Lemont will be 98 on Tuesday. Heat index values could be as high as 103 degrees.

Temps will cool slightly on Wednesday, although it will still be quite warm, with a high of 90 degrees, the weather service said.

The weather service advised drinking plenty of water and limiting time outdoors. Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
